The human behind the mess

Hi, I'm Gill.

For a long time I thought I was the problem. Too much, too scattered, too all-or-nothing. I'd buy the beautiful planner, fall in love with it for four days, then watch it gather dust while I felt vaguely guilty every time I walked past it.

Me: today's the day I start.
Also me: colour-coding a spreadsheet for a shop that doesn't exist yet.

you know the one

You've got the idea. Probably about six of them.

And one of them is genuinely good, and it's sitting half finished in a folder because life got loud and the lightning wore off. I know that folder. I've got one (or five) too.

For years the advice was always the same:

Be more consistent. Show up every single day. Build the habit, stick to the routine, and the business will follow.

And every time you couldn't keep it up, it felt like proof you just weren't cut out for this.

What I actually believe

Your brain isn't the problem. The advice was written for a different one.

You don't have a time problem, you have a capture problem. You get these incredible bursts where you'll write the whole thing or plan everything you need to do in one sitting, but then there's no system to catch it, so it slips away and you keep having to start from scratch the next time the hyperfocus hits. That's not a discipline issue, that's just a missing system.

So I built the system

Hyperfocus once. Get paid for months.

I started Messy Little Empire because I was so over always burning out while trying to run a business like a neurotypical person with endless free evenings and reliable consistency. I needed something that would get me from my idea to an actual live and launched business, so I made sure that every part of this is built around the way our brains actually work. You get the steps you need and the reasons why you're doing something and you can build at your own pace. You don't have to worry again about not knowing what the next thing is to do.

Faceless

So you're never performing. No camera, no getting on to be “fine” for anyone.

No calls

Nothing sitting in your calendar that you'll dread all week. It's all handled in writing.

Pinterest-first

So the work you did in one good afternoon keeps working while you're off living your actual life.

One clear step

Because thirty small steps read as one giant wall. You always know the single next thing to do.

this is the whole point

I'm not here to fix you. There's nothing to fix.

I'm here to hand you the systems that fit the way you already work, so your business runs even when you don't. If you've got the ideas and none of the scaffolding, you're in exactly the right place.

hyperfocus once

Turn your next burst into weeks of content

The Hyperfocus Content Engine takes one good burst of your genius and turns it into weeks of content that's written and planned for you. All faceless, no camera, no daily posting, just ready when you are to upload or schedule it (always my preference!). When the next quiet week hits, everything is already handled.
