Digital products and your rights

Most of what I sell is digital content, including guides, kits, playbooks and systems. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you would normally have a 14-day "cooling-off" period to cancel and get a refund. For digital content, there is an important exception, which I explain below.

In short: once you download or start accessing digital content immediately, you lose the automatic 14-day right to cancel for that content. I will always be fair where something is genuinely wrong, faulty or not as described.

2

Immediate access and loss of the cancellation right

When you buy a digital product from me, you ask to receive it straight away. At checkout you agree that:

  • you want the digital content supplied immediately, and
  • you understand that once the download or access begins, you lose the right to cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period.

This means that, as a rule, I do not offer refunds simply because you have changed your mind once you have downloaded or accessed a product. This is standard for digital content and is allowed under UK consumer law.

3

If something is faulty or not as described

Your statutory rights are not affected by anything above. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a product is faulty, corrupted or significantly not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or, where appropriate, a refund. Just get in touch and I will put it right.

4

If you have trouble accessing your purchase

If a download link does not work or a file will not open, that is on me to fix. Please contact me and I will resend the file or sort out the problem as quickly as I can. I would always rather fix the issue than leave you stuck.

Services and the audit promise

My done-for-you services, such as the Pinterest Audit and the Traffic Engine, involve me doing bespoke work for you. Once I have started work on a service, it cannot be "returned" in the way a digital file can, so refunds are not available for work already carried out. If something goes wrong on my side, contact me and I will make it right.

The audit promise. The Pinterest Audit comes with its own guarantee: if there is genuinely nothing worth improving in your account, you get your money back and a note explaining why your foundations are already solid.

Any specific service guarantee is set out on that service's page at the time you buy and takes precedence where it applies.

How to request help or a refund

If you think something has gone wrong, please email me at Gill@MessyLittleEmpire.com with your order details and a short description of the problem. I aim to respond within 3 working days. I take a fair, goodwill approach and genuinely want you to be happy with what you bought.

7

Chargebacks

If you have a problem, please contact me first so I can help. Raising a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting me makes things slower and harder for everyone, and I may provide your order and access records to the payment provider to respond to it. I am confident I can resolve most issues directly and quickly.
