Terms of Use

This website and everything sold through it are operated by Messy Little Empire ("I", "me", "my"), a small business run by Gill in the United Kingdom. By using this site or buying any of my products or services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or buy from me.

Messy Little Empire shares Pinterest strategy, business guidance and digital products based on experience and research. It is general information and education, not regulated financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your specific situation. You make your own business decisions. Please also read my full Disclaimer.

Most of what I sell is digital, including guides, kits, playbooks and systems such as the Launch Kit, Business in a Box, the Pinterest Traffic Playbook and the Pinterest Income System. When you buy a digital product, I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own personal and business use.

You may not:

• resell, sub-licence, rent or otherwise commercially exploit any product;
• share, distribute, upload or republish the files or their contents;
• copy or reproduce the content beyond your own use, except where a product is clearly intended to be printed or filled in for your own use.

The products remain my intellectual property at all times.

I also offer done-for-you services such as the Pinterest Audit, the Traffic Engine, Monthly Management and the Full Launch. When you book a service:

• everything happens over email and in a shared document. There are no calls or video unless expressly agreed;
• you agree to send me what I need to do the work, such as access to your Pinterest account, your branding and images, within a reasonable time. Delays in getting these to me will delay delivery;
• I will deliver within the timeframe stated on the relevant service page (for example, the Pinterest Audit within 5 working days of getting access, and the Traffic Engine within 10 working days of your completed intake form);
• some services rely on third-party tools such as Tailwind, which is a separate subscription you pay directly to that provider;
• the specific deliverables are the ones listed on the service's own page at the time you buy.

You are responsible for your own Pinterest account, your content and your compliance with the terms of Pinterest and any other platform. I cannot control or guarantee the decisions or algorithms of third-party platforms.

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and, where applicable, include any tax due. I may update prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed. I reserve the right to correct obvious pricing errors.

Payment is taken at checkout via my checkout provider, Payhip. By placing an order you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method and that the details you provide are accurate. Your order is accepted once your payment is confirmed, and your download or access is then made available. Any delay in email delivery does not change the fact that your order has been accepted and fulfilled.

Digital downloads are delivered instantly or shortly after purchase, usually by an on-screen link and/or email. Please make sure your email address is correct, and check your spam folder if anything does not arrive. All content on this site and within my products, including text, design, graphics, and the Messy Little Empire name and branding, is owned by or licensed to me and is protected by intellectual property law. You may not use it without my written permission, except as expressly allowed by these terms.

When using the site, you agree not to misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce harmful code, scrape or copy content, or use it for any unlawful purpose. I may suspend or withdraw access if these terms are breached.

Anything you share with me to run your project stays between us. That includes your Pinterest login details, your branding, your images and any business information you send over. I keep it confidential and stored securely (passwords are shared through the encrypted 1Password site, never plain email), and I do not pass it to anyone else except where the law requires it or where I genuinely need to for the running of my business, such as my accountant. When your work is finished I return or delete your access details on request, and I do not hold on to anything longer than I need to.

Because my products are digital, specific rules apply to cancellations and refunds, including your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Please read my Refund Policy for full details.

I provide my content, products and services in good faith and to a high standard, but to the fullest extent permitted by law I do not accept liability for any loss, income, result or outcome arising from your use of, or reliance on, my content, products or services. Business results vary and depend on many things outside my control, so I make no guarantee of any particular result, traffic level or income.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Every so often something outside my reasonable control gets in the way, such as a platform outage, Pinterest or Tailwind going down, illness, or another event I could not have prevented. If that delays or interrupts the work I am not liable for it, but I will always tell you as soon as I can and get things back on track as quickly as possible.

My site and products may link to third-party websites or tools, and some may be affiliate links. I am not responsible for their content, products or practices, and a link does not imply endorsement. Any dealings with third parties are at your own risk and subject to their terms. See my Disclaimer for more on affiliate links.

These terms are between you and me, and no one else. No other person has the right to enforce or rely on any part of them under the Contract (Third Party Rights) (Scotland) Act 2017.

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.

I may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the "Last updated" date shown above. Please check back occasionally.
